Since the last update,  Call of Duty Modern Warfare now has “Trials” available on the in-game menu.

You should note at this point, though, that you need to be Officer rank (rank 55) or above to be able to access Trials.

Trials were available towards the end of October, but was taken away shortly thereafter due to a bug that was found where players were not getting XP added to their account upon completion.

Now they are back (Yay!) and a great way to rank up your account!

So what is the deal with Trials?

This is the official break down of how Trials work according to this Reddit post by Ashton Williams, senior communications manager at Infinity Ward:

Here’s How Trials Work:

Once you’re in Officer Ranks, you’ll earn tickets you can use to compete in Trials. Already in Officer Ranks? You’ll get access to tickets you already earned.

One ticket is needed to take part in a Trial

One ticket grants you 3 tries

Based on your performance, you’ll be given a 1, 2, or 3-star rating

Each star rating grants XP rewards:

0 Stars: 0 XP

1 Star: 5000 XP

2 Stars: 7500 XP

3 Stars: 10000 XP

Trials rotate, so spend those tickets!

So what does that really mean for me?

Each ticket you earn gives you 3 tries at a Trial, which essentially means that should you score 3 stars on each round, you could be earning yourself a maximum of 30 000XP per ticket!

At the end of each round, the game scores you on your performance, awarding you a rating between zero and three stars, awarding you the XP associated with that rating.

The rate at which you earn tickets though has not been fully communicated, with some players saying they earn regularly, and others saying that they are at higher ranks without earning any yet, so keep an eye on how you earn tickets, and try to keep that up!

What do we think of Trials?

Trials are a great way to level up your account!

Besides been a little nervy at first when the boards start popping up and scaring the bejeebus out of you, you quickly get into the hang of it.

If you have the Trial tickets available, the more you play each trial, the better you will become at it.

It’s also a great way to hone your reflexes, and make sure you are quick to decide if you should shoot or not… Remember, even if a teammate doesn’t die when you shoot them, you’ll still be giving your position away to the enemy!

So get out there and kick some Trial butt!! We want to hear from you in the comments if you have enjoyed the trials and how many stars you have racked up!

Happy Gaming!
